Best Practice Studio CIC is a non-profit company that specialises in the development of creative media and digital learning resources for community groups, schools and funded projects.
Through the use of film, digital media and the creative arts, we develop resources that allow projects and educators to tell their stories, demonstrate what works well and support others with their learning. We work closely with communities, groups and schools across the UK, while also drawing on our international project management experience to support cross-border and Erasmus-style initiatives.
The Community Interest Company was founded by Will Marcombe of Pecky Necky Films and Rupert Aker, who have worked together on school and funded community projects across the UK and Europe for over fifteen years. We bring nearly two decades of hands-on video production, editing, media creation and project management expertise to the community and education sectors. Drawing on this proven track record enables us to successfully partner on community and cross-border grant-funded projects, allowing us to reinvest our skills and resources directly back into local community and educational causes.
Our work is built around four core areas:
-
Producing powerful impact films for charities, schools and community initiatives, that bring inspiring human stories to life to highlight community, educational and environmental causes.
-
Documenting and showcasing best-practice community projects and methods of learning - through digital media, creative arts and training workshops - to educate and inspire local communities, charities, schools and project partners, by highlighting what works well.
-
Developing and supplying projects with online resources—such as interactive training modules and AI-driven tools—supporting them in making digital education accessible to all and enabling projects to support others with their learning.
-
Supporting community and educational projects to successfully integrate digital media and creative arts into their learning, personal development and wellbeing outcomes.
